First, Kyle Baker had
to submit a cover sketch (seen above) to DC. As you can imagine, DC art
director Amie Brockway and Vertigo executive editor Karen Berger were delighted
when they saw the sketch and approved it immediately. Kyle then proceeded
to do a cover which bore no resemblance to the sketch.
